Memory is Power
Knowing where you’re from is not always well documented for many disenfranchised communities. We at FaTaSiLima, work to ensure all voices, past, present & future are heard.
We assist local San Franciscan residents trace their genealogy. In particular, we focus on residents who do not have much access to new technologies or who are disenfranchised by their social conditions.

Why does genealogy matter?
A people with no connection to their history, personal or local, can become disenfranchised from their greater selves and once deprived of the dignity of knowing where they are from, they will find little solace, joy or hopes in their present.
Genealogy Tracing
We assist local San Franciscan residents to trace their genealogy. In particular, we focus on residents who do not have much access to new technologies or who are disenfranchised by their social conditions.
One of our genealogy projects called ‘Where’re Your People’s From?’ focusses on helping senior citizens with little access to online resources or who may have a social or cultural or technological impediments to getting access to research resources. Our project seeks to help them do the ground work and help these San Franciscan residents learn more about their genealogy in the 21st century.

We are the present, we are the future, we are the past.
